Philippe was born in Marseille, France. He was previously a member of the French national team of figure skating and represented France for six years in many international competitions. Turning professional at the young age of 22, he went on to perform as a principal skater in Holiday on Ice’s Extravaganza and then as a principal in the Hot Ice Show, England.
Rebecca and Philippe formed their acrobatic adagio act in Paris eight years ago. They continued in their passion for circus arts developing their balancing, aerial silks, static silk, aerial hoop, and roue Cyr acts. The grace and poise from Rebecca’s ballet training and Philippe’s athleticism from his figure skating background combine to make their act one of awe inspiring beauty, strength and elegance. The name Balskat Duo was created from the combination of the words ballet and skating!
