J. Golko is currently working exclusively on Royal Caribbean’s newest flagship, the Quantum of the Seas. He is performing as a featured multi-instrumentalist in a brand new, one-of-a-kind Royal Caribbean production show: “Sonic Odyssey.” Performing on a collection of instrumental creations by “America’s Got Talent” finalist, William Close, J. Golko has pushed the limits of his skills as a multi-instrumentalist to learn and master Close’s creations ranging from the percussive-driven rhythms of the “Drum Wall," “Drumbrella,” and “Drum Jacket,” to the intimate and dramatic bowing of the “Cello Dress," inspired by combining fashion with musical instruments. He also demonstrates his abilities on the guitar and bass in a sculpture inspired creation called the “Aquatar,” which fuses the guitar and bass with a sitar-like sliding instrument. The core instrument featured in this production is the “Earth Harp,” Close’s record setting, largest instrument in the world. With strings that can range over 1,000 feet long, the Earth Harp J. Golko performs on in the Royal Theatre is cast out to the balcony, giving the audience the experience of being inside the instrument. His musical approach as a cinematic composer brings the emotion and tension of film score music to the rich, cello-tone of the Earth Harp.
J. Golko is based in Chicago, Illinois, and he is a full time guest entertainer on Quantum of the Seas.
