OLEKSANDR BOZHYK is a virtuoso violinist, a composer, and a phenomenon in modern music space. He knows a thing about combining unsurpassable performing and spectacular show. He is equally good at classics, rock, pop, and ethnic music. Award winner of international and all-Ukrainian contests. Prize-winner of TV shows, in particular of one of the most popular shows of Ukrainian television Ukrayina maye talant! (“Ukraine has the talent!”) (on STB channel). In December 2012 came the Book of Records of Ukraine. He played simultaneously on four violins (melody from the movie “Requiem for a Dream”). Oleksandr conquers violin holding it on his head, knee, in the outstretched arm... In one of his exclusive performances the strings of the violin are cut one by one until single string is left. Despite this the melody continues.
What are under the Bozhyk’s belt are numerous tours in European countries together with famous European showman Hans Liberg. Oleksandr is at ease with any musical style and genre. The stage can see him as a classical musician (he graduated from specialized music school named after Solomiya Krushelnytska and Lviv National Music Academy named after M. Lysenko; he is a soloist in Lviv Philharmonic; he has cooperated with numerous orchestras both in Ukraine and abroad). At the same time Oleksandr can show his worth as an impressive showman. The repertoire of the violinist includes his own art compositions, academic music, rock, potpourri of famous melodies, rock-n-roll arrangements of Ukrainian folk songs, and tracks from movies... The musician combines classical motives and rock elements juggling skillfully with genres, styles, and moods. He presents an unusual and unknown to many people aspect of the violin as of a fashionable and modern instrument that withstood the tests of several centuries of history.
Oleksandr Bozhyk realizes himself as a soloist and a composer and he launches unique projects in cooperation with other musicians and singers. Recently the violinist founded group “Bozhyk Band” where he performs classical works in rock variants, experiments with styles and soundings together with professional musicians.
