From television to the big screen, musical theatre to opera to cabaret, there are few entertainment mediums that Rhonda Burchmore has not embraced with her wide ranging talents.

Throughout her career Rhonda has made a distinctive impression on audiences with her dazzling dance steps, superb comic timing, effervescent personality and her stunning voice. A role that showcased Rhonda’s versatility was the Australian production of Sugar Babies, opposite Garry McDonald and Broadway legend Eddie Bracken. She so impressed the producers that she was invited to repeat her role opposite Mickey Rooney and Anne Miller in London’s West End production in 1988. Whilst in the U.K. Rhonda also starred with Anthony Newley in the revival of Stop The World I Want To Get Off.

Other stage credits include Song And Dance, They’re Playing Our Song, Lend Me A Tenor, Iolanthe, Die Fledermaus, An Evening With Sondheim, and the title role of Annie in Annie Get Your Gun. David Atkins, who featured Rhonda in his 1987 hit Dancin’ Man, wrote a role especially for her in his tap musical, Hot Shoe Shuffle. She also starred in Aladdin and Cinderella.

In 1997 Rhonda opened the Melbourne Crown Casino with her own show ‘Red Hot & Rhonda’ which played to over 60,000 people. In the same year Tommy Tune approached Rhonda to play opposite him on Broadway in Irving Berlin’s Easter Parade. In the same year she played the Witch in the Melbourne Theatre Company’s production of Stephen Sondheim’s Into The Woods.

In 1998 Shock Records released Rhonda’s first album, self titled, Rhonda Burchmore featuring her big band swing feel. She has since released another 3 albums, Midnight Rendezvous, Live At The Melbourne Concert Hall and most recently the acclaimed Pure Imagination. Rhonda will tour Australia in 2008 to promote her latest album.

In 1999 and 2000 as she produced her own cabaret show which played in a number of major venues around the country and was rewarded with an ACE Award for Best Female Variety Performer and Variety Performer of the Year in 1999 and in 2000 the ACE Award for Best Female Variety Performer and the Mo Award for Best Female Variety Performer.

In 2000 she returned to theatre to play the title role of Mame in the new ‘Production Company’’ production of Mame and she played the role of Adelaide in the Adelaide Festival Centre’s production of Guys And Dolls.

In May 2001 she commenced her role of Tanya in the ABBA music production show, Mamma Mia. Rhonda was nominated for a 2002 Mo Award for Female Musical Theatre Performer Of The Year for her role in Mamma Mia, along with another nomination of Female Vocal Variety Performer Of The Year. She has also received a Green Room nomination for Best Female Performer In A Featured Role for her role of Tanya in Mamma Mia. Rhonda dazzled audiences in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney for 2 years in her role as Tanya.

In 2002 Rhonda was one of a very select number of performers asked to entertain for President Bill Clinton when he toured Australia. She has sung the National Anthem at the 2001 Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix, the 2004 Emirates Melbourne Cup and many other prestigious events including performing the Anthem and entertaining the officials and the athletes in Athens for the 2004 Paralympics Australian team.

In November 2003 Rhonda starred in her own production of Rhonda Burchmore Sings ‘n Swings at Sydney’s Star City Casino to rave reviews including comments from the media such as; “She really is Australia’s Princess of Style”, “Rhonda proved beyond a shadow of a doubt she is a world class performer” and “Larger than life and totally embraceable”. She has since produced 2 other hugely successful shows My Funny Valentines in 2004 and Fever in 2005, which played at The Palms, Crown Casino, Melbourne, Live at the J, Jupiters Gold Coast and Sydney’s Star City Casino.

In 2004 Rhonda played the role of Penelope Pennywise in the MTC production of the highly acclaimed, Urinetown The Musical and she travelled to Sydney in June 2006 to play the role again, this time for the STC. Then in November of 2006 Rhonda also starred in the MTC’s production of Tomfoolery, again under the direction of Simon Phillips.

Rhonda has performed in productions such as Leading Ladies in Brisbane, Adelaide and Melbourne and in October this year she performs in Leading Ladies in Perth. She has travelled Australia to be guest artist for numerous concert venues including the Victorian Arts Centre, working with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra and performing with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra at the Sydney Opera House. She is also a favourite at the Myer Music Bowl’s Carols By Candlelight and on variety shows including Kerri-Anne Kennerley and Spicks & Specks. .

In 2007 Rhonda dazzled audiences starring in RESPECT: A Musical Journey Of Women when it toured the country and in October this year Rhonda returns to the role of Mame playing the lead role of Auntie Mame for the Production Company.

She has recently been the appointed the new ambassador and spokesperson for Anlene milk and when not touring or performing in concert she remains one of the most sought after motivational speakers in the country.
